Some of you may be aware of the house renovation series I have shared across my social media platforms. I was handed the keys to my new home in May when I was heavily pregnant with my youngest - 36 weeks to be exact! More recently, I created a page dedicated to my home for anyone invested in the projects I was working on (@ourlittlescottishhomex).  I am beyond grateful for the love and support I have received over the last few months. Home decoration has been a great interest and hobby of mine ever since moving into our place back in 2022, I believe it was a hobby I inherited from my mum. My mum always curated such beautiful cozy bedrooms for me and my brother and sisters growing up. Any friend I had around from school always commented on my bedroom and soon it became something I was greatly  prideful of. My bedroom was my space, a warm and organised environment. I always believe that an organised, clean home can reduce stress and anxiety levels, for me anyway. We officially moved into our home in August however we still have much to do.  Now that the ‘big jobs’ were completed it was time to baby-proof the abode. Why is baby-proofing such a tedious job? Once you start, suddenly everything is dangerous. My family were bewildered at how many baby gates I bought before moving in!  Sometimes we wish we could wrap our babies in bubble wrap and be rest assured no harm will ever come their way. Unfortunately for us mums, we can only do our absolute best. Anyway, here is everything we have done so far in our little Scottish home

When we first walked in, the house was wallpapered head-to-toe. There was nothing but boards underneath meaning we were faced with plastering every room including the hallway and staircase. Stripping the wallpaper off the walls seemed like an easy task - before we started. Every time we scraped one layer off we were met with another. Once that task was complete we got straight to plastering and painting. The floors and carpets were fitted and  we replaced all the skirting boards both upstairs and downstairs. As I mentioned before,  although we have moved in, there are many tasks yet to be completed. Just last month i revealed Jasmines Bedroom. I will leave links to the transformation at the bottom of this page. My kitchen will the second area of my home i will complete next. All that is left to do is paint the walls as soon as i settle on a shade.  As for the rest of our home, it's merely some basic decor i can build on over time. The production of my youngest's nursery will be my new years endevour as she approaches the maximum age limit for her snuzpod which currently lies next to me.

Jasmines Bedroom

Jasmine's bedroom inspiration I have taken from several ideas on Pinterest including a beautiful decor range new to Dunelm I discovered, ‘Ditsy Bunny’. Jasmines bedroom has taken several months to complete as i have perfected all the small details as i have been dreaming over the last year.  The paint I used on her walls is Timeless and Blush Pink by Dulux.  I would love to eventually pair the matching curtains to the wallpaper i used and use her current curtains for the nursery. As christmas approaches i have spent some time adding to her bedroom and giving it a very festive magical feeling.

Kitchen

The first job we embarked on in the kitchen after stripping the walls down was replacing the worktops and installing a beautiful new sink and tap with the help of my uncle. More recently i had the walls plastered and new tiles layed. Currently i wait patiently to find the perfect shade to paint, and complete my kitchen with a barstool and extra shelving for storage. If you have any ideas or recommendations for this space I would love to hear from you in the comments below!

I cannot wait to continue decorating the rest of my house however i am in no rush. I am very privilaged and grateful to have a home to make my own. If it werent for my family, friends and all of you i would not be in this position to give my babies a beautiful home, and every job completed gives me a massive sense of achievement. I look forward to planning my next tasks and i love hearing everyones ideas for each of the spaces in my home. I cannot wait to show you some more of my home as i work through the next  projects, and i cannot thank everyone of you enough for sharing this journey with me.
